Old buildings in Italy

March 11, 2013

No bigger joy than looking at the beautiful old buildings everywhere in Italy and observe the modifications throughout the ages. You often see the scars of old arches that have been closed, windows that are no more and doors moved. Try to imagine what the buildings once must have looked like and how they were used all those ages ago.

Everything will continue and transform. Including ourselves. A lovely idea to cherish.

I love this concept too. The way the buildings are a patchwork, adapting to new times, but with all the marks of time still there to see. It makes me smile. Old is so underestimated in the new world. I love Italy all the more for that reason.
